1930s Marx Toys / Louis Marx & Co. Also referred to as Black Pinocchio on Bike. This classic piece of Black Americana measures 9-inch L x 9-in H.
When wound up the cyclist pedals and drives the bike and wagon. There is also a feature that makes hard left & right turns, but this does not work well at his slow riding speed. 100% COMPLETE, and all Original. Has the original wind-up key, arms, and handle bars.Everything is tin metal except the cardboard arms and legs. Tin figure sits a bit loose on the seat and tilts off center easily. There is some paint wear and patina from age, but colors still bright and vivid, and one of the nicer models you will see. There is some spotting & discoloration on the right arm. Wind-up mechanism is TESTED & WORKING, but the cycle rides slower than normal. Still a lot of recoil and strength left in the spring. Occasionally sticks a little and needs a bump to finish the ride, could probably use some oil.
Well kept by a serious collector, in a sealed display case for decades. All photos are of the actual products being received. Great for play or display! The item "Marx BUSY DELIVERY Wind-up Tin Toy Black Pinocchio 1930s vintage bike cycle cart" is in sale since Wednesday, December 13, 2017.
