Vintage Marx Tin Lithograph Dollhouse RARE Prepper Bomb Shelter 1962 Sears #4073

It was produced in response to the preparedness efforts encouraged by our American government because of the Cold War with Russia. Instead of a garage, Marx made that space a bomb shelter (look closely at all of the prepper supplies). Kind of cool to see a part of our American history so clearly reflected in a toy of the time. Because there weren't many produced, its scarcity increases its value. It is a very timely themed dollhouse once again because of the doomsday prepper mindset seeping into our culture today (which is not necessarily unjustified in these strange times). This dollhouse measures about 38" long, 8" wide, and 16 high. It is a colonial and similar to other Marx colonials but has a breezeway and, instead of a garage, it has the bomb shelter full of prepper supplies.

The plastic awning can be mounted if you can come up with long legs or supports for it. The last picture showing the Marx stamp is dark because the stamp is in the dark breezeway. Note: In some places there is light reflected from flash that makes the roof appear white, especially on edges. NOTE ADDED in response to a question: There are no tabs missing that I can find. The roof tabs are all there but will need to be reinserted in spots once you get the walls back in.
