Vintage 1940s Marx Rookie Cop Tin Wind Up Motorcycle w/ Siren. MOTORCYCLIST EARLY POLICE PATROL BIKE #3 MOTORCYCLE COP MADE IN U. A LOUIS MARX & CO........ 1930's / 40's. GREAT LOOKING BIKE, NICE LARGE PIECE APPX. INTERNAL CLOCKWORK / WIND UP MECHANISM...... Fixed-head key winder and functional STOP/START lever. HIGHLY DETAILED TIN LITHO PRINTING, RETAINING A NICE COLOUR PERIOD PATROL OFFICER SITS ASTRIDE HIS BIKE, WITH HIS GUN IN HOLSTER. BIKE HAS THE CORRECT EARLY SINGLE WOODEN WHEEL MOTORCYCLE RETAINS THE HEADLAMP, SIDE MOUNTED SIREN MECHANISM AND STOP / START LEVER. Very attractive tin toy from Marx; has survived in super condition with minimal surface litho marks, scuffs, scratch and play / age wear.
Colors are bright and lively...... Not badly faded, as is often seen no repaint or touch up not rotten base plate it present and super clean. (Please see images for motorcycle's actual condition). Spring mechanism winds up, stop/start lever functions.......
Patrol bike will ride about, not very fast... But i never wind it up too much; the siren mechanism still spins, although now producing more of a single note drone sound, so not very siren like.....
