Vintage Marx Lithographed Tin Windup Popeye in Airplane
Marx Lithographed Tin Windup Popeye in Airplane. Iconic tin windup airplane by Marx. This is the more desirable of the variations with extremely colorful lithography and glossy bright colors. Size is around 8 wingspan x 8 length x 5.5 high. The windup on this is strong and has a great action hold the wheels and wind it up, put it on the ground and wheels spin forward, then the toy jerks and rotates (front roll-bar gear helps), direction reverses, the toy head jerks around randomly, then the direction keeps alternating.

It is a classic action, similar to the Krazy Car and Marx Charlie McCarthy windup cars. Condition is excellent and all original. Lithography has light scratches per Marxs mass production methods. Popeyes neck is relatively clean as are the wheels with very light wear; likely collector owned its for much of the toys life.
