Vtg Antique SNAPPY THE MIRACLE DOG MARX TIN TOY Doghouse House Litho 1930s 1940s

Snappy stands guard outside his dog house waiting for visitors. This Marx toy has its original mechanical device inside the doghouse. There is a metal tension plate attached to the back wall at a slight angle, and behind it is a small black suction cup. Originally the toy's owner would push Snappy against the plate, and the suction cup would hold the plate in position for several seconds before releasing it, which would then cause Snappy to pop out the front door.

The suction cup has become dry and inflexible over the course of its vintage life, so it will no longer stick to the plate, but you can still push Snappy against the plate and he'll bounce out immediately when released. There are some scratches and scuffs on the back exterior wall, but overall this tin toy looks beautiful with vivid lithograph colors. Please see photos for details.
